Dolphins are one of the most amazing creatures of nature. They are known for their intelligence, their desire to play, and altruism. Unfortunately, many species of dolphins are threatened or endangered. As human beings we must do more to care for these precious animals to be taken to ensure their survival. There is much we can learn from them, and much we do not understand these creatures. Contemporary threats include destruction of endangered dolphins in their naturalhabitat, fish and dolphins accidentally lead the hunt.

While commercial whaling is banned and heavily regulated by many parts of the world, there are countries that are not in complete agreement. Recently, Japan is under control for the preservation of an area to capture dolphins for their meat.
