Whale Watching from Point Vicente in Palos Verdes Peninsula, California

Every year between December and May, volunteers from the Los Angeles section of The American Cetacean Society gather daily at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center Palos Verdes Peninsula to participate in a census of whales through the Catalina Channel. Since this is one of our most popular trails in all of LA we often stop to say hello to the participants, ask them questions and analyze the data, which will be presented. We do not know how many whalesappeared or should have known, appeared, but it's always interesting to note that only a few miles off the coast are one of the largest metropolises in the world, swim with the whales, almost unnoticed, on their annual migration.

What is for me this article is a Los Angeles Times, which ran January 15, 2008. She has spoken at several points along the California coast where whales can be seen. Palos Verdes option is available to residents of LA. It's a lot of free parking onthe center. Other activities in this area abound. You can take a walk along a coastal trail that runs for several miles right over the cliff. A visit to the Interpretation Center to more fun. Here you can learn the habitat, history, animals, marine environment and conservation of natural life. One thing that surprises me is that he was in a bay near (Portuguese Bend), is an actual whaling station in mid-1800. A multipurpose hall in the center and is widely used for weddings and Oceanfrontevents. The lighthouse is maintained near the Coast Guard and is open to the public every second Saturday 10-3. Admission is free.

Whale watching is on a nice stone plateau. Powerful telescopes and binoculars line the edge of the area. Friendly members of the American Cetacean Society is always ready to share with you a story about whales, their numbers, invite you to observe the Pacific Ocean and answer any questions. I have only seen once the whaleshere. That was about ten years ago. This is only to observe that, since a whale is not guaranteed. What is guaranteed is that you have a good time here, learn something, spend some 'time off to enjoy the breeze of the Pacific, walking and enjoying nature. There's nothing better.

Wikipedia defines Cetacea (s) as follows:

The order Cetacea (L. Cetus, whale) includes whales, dolphins and porpoises. Cetus is Latin and the name is used to indicate biological"Wal," whose original meaning "large sea animal", was more general. It derives from the greek Ket ( "sea monster"). Cetology is the branch of marine science with the study of whales.

Whales are mammals largest fully adapted to life in water. Your body is), fusiform (spindle-shaped. The front legs are in the process of fins. The legs are slightly stunted, do not connect to the backbone and are hidden within the body. The tail has horizontal flukes. Whales almosthairless, and isolated by a thick layer of fat. As a group of whales are known for their great intelligence.

Orlando is the place to bring your family, if you want to provide them with adventures and emotions which are not seen elsewhere. I am in Orlando, adventure and thrills than roller coasters and rides fast. You can take your children to swim with the dolphins, a trip to a tropical river, a swim in the lagoon with rays or snorkeling the reef, all in a park, Discovery Cove.

Discovery Cove is an attraction that is adjacent tofamous Sea World parks. It offers you the opportunity to speak, to touch, play and swim with the gentle and exquisite bottlenose dolphins. The park is home to 30 marine mammals.

The dolphin swim begins with an interactive guide, a brief video presentation on dolphin characteristics, such as the use of signals with his hands and positive reinforcement to the dolphin and various safety guidelines to be included.

The orientation is followed by dolphins in the park lagoon waders.Groups of 6-8 people to wade and walk close to the Dolphins. According to the website of the park: "They meet and play with a dolphin for 30 minutes to get to know each other through hugs, kisses, ultimately, rubdowns and one - on-one swim together through the lagoon.

Wow, a pool-to-one with a dolphin! It 'hard at first, but the park offers more adventure. Have you ever thought of as the most colorful fish swimming in a fascinating coral reef?

Well, you cancloser to the reefs, like a television documentary about a trip to Discovery Cove Single Barrier Reef. This is possible through the large colorful coral reefs, shipwreck remains and magnificent caves. you can as long as you like and see many species of fish exotic. you can even have a vision of a shark or barracuda, without danger, such as sharks and barracuda swimming in a glass enclosed areas.

The journey takes you through a rainforest environment complete with waterfalls, caves and a lagoon of fresh water. On the road, you can also target an interactive aviary, which is filled with more than 250 species of tropical birds to take. These colorful birds are tame and come and eat from my hand.

If you have a different experience, you can snorkel, swim in the Lagoon Ray and cow-nosed rays. These are gentle creatures that grow up to fourMeters in diameter.

As expected, this attraction is very much in demand, and admission is based on a reservation. The park offers a pack a day, and even in the summer months, a package in the evening.
